Spanish Animals Rescue Team

This is a home page of the rescueassociation “Spanish Animals Rescue Team” here in Finland, which was established in May 2008 also in Finland. The main purpose of our association is to help homeless dogs and other animals  in Spain and in Andalucia.

There are thousands and thousands of homeless dogs in southern part of Spain. Even if there are a lot of dog and horse  friendly people living on the area, in general dogs and horses position in southern Spain is really bad. A lot of dogs and horses are killed and abandoned, without any understandable reason.

In Andalucia there are several municipal and private shelters or centers, that collect homeless and abandoned dogs and horses. Municipal shelters usually put down every dog after ten days, if the owner is not found. Private shelters try to keep dogs alive and try to find new homes to them from Spain and abroad.
The situation with horses are even worse. Horses have only few shelters owned by private associations and they are running out of the money and proper medicalcare.
Our association works closely together with these local Spanish associations to help save dogs and horses lives and try to improve the situation in Southern Spain fast.

There are many ways to help. We always get to know these dogs as well as possible, and then we try to find the perfect home for each dog .
Every adoptionprocess is carefully checked.
Also we help horses by donating money and by donating necessary things.

We also help local private shelters by giving them different kinds of donations. We make sure, that the money is well spend on homeless dogs and horses medical care, food or for example improving local shelters. We follow carefully regulations and keep contacts to authorities in Finland and Spain, to make sure that all work we do to help dogs and horses , is done in a proper way.
